Privacy Policy

The short version

Tindra is local-first. Your novels, story bibles, settings, and API keys live on your device — we have no server that stores them and no way to read them.

What we collect

• Purchase information. When you subscribe, Lemon Squeezy (our merchant of record) collects your email and payment details under its own privacy policy. We see your email address and license status, not your payment details.
• License validation. The app periodically validates your license key online. This sends the key and a device identifier — never your writing.
• Update checks. The desktop app checks GitHub for new releases, which exposes your IP address to GitHub like any download does.

What we don't collect

No analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising identifiers, and no copies of your manuscripts. This website does not set cookies.

Third-party AI providers

When you generate text or images, your prompts and relevant manuscript context are sent directly from your device to the AI providers you configured with your own API keys (e.g., Anthropic, OpenAI, xAI, Google, Venice.ai). Those transmissions are governed by each provider's privacy policy. We are not a party to them.

Your data, your exports

You can export your complete novel data as JSON at any time, and your encrypted settings backup is protected by a passphrase only you know. Deleting the app's local data removes everything Tindra stored on your device.
